UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE OF GOLF | 14-08-2008
With tax-exempt customers including diplomats, expatriates and members of the military in 50 countries worldwide, Volvo Car International Customer Sales has a record 12 tournaments and 750 customers in this year's Volvo Masters Amateur.
Volvo Car International Customer sales (VCIC) is a bit like the Volvo masters Amateur itself, truly global and passionate about golf.
Throughout the season, in Japan, Switzerland, Finland, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Austria and Sweden, VCIC is engaging with its international client base of expatriates, diplomats and military personnel through the Volvo Masters Amateur.
And, at the end of the season, 12 tournaments, three of which are in Japan, the Stableford scores of all 750-plus players are computed and just two talented golfers get to make the trip to Valderrama and the Volvo Masters Amateur World Final.
"Our VCIC Volvo Masters Amateur Series is very important to us and greatly enjoyed and appreciated by our existing and prospective customers," says George Neale who heads up the VCIC sales campaign and coordinates the global golf series, adding, "It is a truly international operation and quite often, the only universal language is that of golf."
He adds, "The Volvo Masters Amateur World Final is a fantastic opportunity for our qualifiers and because they can come from any of the 50 countries we operate in, they can either be flying the flag for their nation or getting together with compatriots who have qualified through their national event. It's truly cosmopolitan, just like Volvo."
He adds, "At VCIC, we are very grateful to our dealer networks in these countries who organise the events locally on our behalf and also to Volvo Car Corporation and Volvo Event Management for staging such a spectacular Volvo Masters Amateur World Final, and at Valderrama this year too."
